I am trying to figure out what I want for Christmas... Every year I start asking for things, and every year my mother tells me that I ask for too much, and then every year I end up getting mostly silly stuff for Christmas because my parents claim that I never asked for anything. Well, this year it shall be different! With God as my witness, I will have actual things to ask for! So far my list consists of:

-Pirates of The Caribbean DVD
-The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for PS2
-The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring for PS2
-Moulin Rouge! DVD
-The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kind 2004 wall calendar
-Harry Potter 2004 day calendar

And hopefully a bunch of non-geeky stuff... I also want some books, but I'm really picky about which editions I get, so I might just buy them myself. I don't think I'm going to ask for clothes, because usually my aunt gives me a gift card to some store or another and I think I will wait and buy things then. And, hey! I've found lots of nice theatres near Kitty Hawk. Now all I have to do is find one that will have a midnight showing...

I can never find it in myself to ask anyone for anything, especially not my parents. I don't know if I'll get much, but it doesn't matter.

Well, throughout the year, if I ever ask for something my mom always says, "Wait for Christmas!" So by the time Christmas comes around, I have usually figured out what stuff I want to get and I generally do not hesitate to ask.

My mum says that too, except I think it is just a way of fobbing me off. I don't usually dare ask for anything, but if I want to buy something really expensive like say, a bottle of perfume or some designer cosmetics she'll say "That's too extravagant, maybe you can have it for Christmas, but not just an everyday thing." I buy it anyway though because she won't get me what I ask for. Last year I wanted a toy Hedwig, my brother and sister were both asking mum to put things on hold for them for Christmas, and she was, so I asked for the toy owl and she said "No, you don't need that."

Sorry, that was a bit of a rant, I know.

My mother does that sometimes, too. I asked for "Moulin Rouge!" on DVD, a movie which I adore and my mom detests. So, of course, she has to ask, "Do you really need another movie? Are you sure that's what you want? etc. etc." Which is her way of saying, "Not gonna buy it!"
