After much confusion and me being pissed off at the majority of my family, I finally made it to the movie last night. I made the horrible mistake of reading the book right before, so I ended up comparing the two and succeeded in confusing the heck out of myself. Aside from the general confusion (and selling out of Gimli!), I enjoyed it very very much. The scenery, as usual, was awesome, and the acting was excellent ::glomps Faramir:: They ended it at a weird place, though, and they made Gollum too nice. I as much as anybody can't help but feel sorry for him, but I've always had more of a Sam-ish opinion on Gollum; no matter how much he wants to be rid of the evil hold the ring has on him, he can't. There will always be a part of him that longs for it, and is thus bent on more or less pure destruction until he can have it, and because of this he can never truly be "good". I also liked the action; I love The Fellowship, but after they walk around for a few hours you start wanting to see them kill something. So, yes, this movie definately fulfilled the killing quota. Eowyn was great, too. Not too girly, but not too I-defy-all-things-about-being-a-woman-except-for-my-insane-crush-on-Aragorn. I am definately going to drag some more people to see it with me again soon.
