Oh, and somehow in all that wailing I forgot that I haven't updated on anything fandom-y as of late.
So! Hey! Merlin! I don't even remember what episode I last posted about, and I'm too lazy to go back and look, so... yeah. I'm still have trouble dealing with the serious business aspects of S2, because so much of it is so problematic and yet at the same time it is also rather dark and thrilling (if the show is intending it in that way, and I know I shouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt, but for now I will). I'll admit upfront that I have completely renounced Team Castle and am now 100% Team Magic (Team Magic, by the by, does not include Merlin. He has been permanently expelled on account of POISONING MORGANA and various other crimes against magichood). I MEAN. MORDRED. GOSH I LOVE HIS CREEPY LITTLE FACE AND I LOVE MORDRED/MORGANA (I MEAN NOT IN THAT SENSE. WELL. NOT REALLY). And and and aaaaaand MORGAUSE NEWFOUND LOVE OF MY LIFE, OMG OMG OMG. This picspam... just... wowzers. This whole bit: That AU where Eowyn kills the Witch King, pull the Nazgul over to her side and then single-handedly storms Barad Dur? Yeah, definitely happening here. AHHH MY BRAIN JUST EXPLODED FROM A PARTICULARLY POTENT COMBO OF BADASSERY AND GIRLCRUSH LUST. And? Seriously? Morgana/Morgause? Sisters? Why you gotta do me like that, BBC? Whatev, I'm shipping it anyway.
...I had other thoughts but I just lost them. Morgause love has taken over. Oh, right, this as well.
Have I mentioned that one of my secondary Spooks ships is Harry/Home Secretary? The end of 8.06 was like NOOOOoooooOOOOooooOOOOOOOOO on so many levels for me on account of that. And then 8.07 was a weird instance of me getting really bored with the arc/established characters side of the story and yet getting really into the Plot of the Week characters.
ONE EPISODE LEFT WHAAAAAT. There had better be an epic Lucas/Sarah reunion/showdown (or LUCAS/SARAH/ROS SHOWDOWN, OH PLEASE PLEASE, IF THERE IS ANY GOOD LEFT IN THE WORLD LET THIS HAPPEN).

Date: 2009-12-17 01:34 am (UTC)I'm having this problem where I like too many of the characters on this show, so when they become ~enemies~ I don't know whom to root for. Yay, Uther! But...yay, Morgause! I'm liking the drama to some extent, but I still think this show does crack better than serious drama. (But hey, how can I complain when Katie McGrath pouts so beautifully?)

Date: 2009-12-17 04:42 am (UTC)cousinssisters sisters totally sisters, and in conclusion SISTERS" way to chicken out on acknowledging their deep soulful passion, to which I say -- I reject your cowardice, BBC, and insert my own THEY'RE TOTALLY MEANT TO BE interpretation (that is, the only possible interpretation, because... I mean... yeah).I too enjoy the show a lot more when it's crack-y for much the same reason -- when it gets into heavy drama I suddenly find all of the characters rather distasteful because they're all making disastrous decisions and betraying their family or murdering their friends or what have you. STRESS STRESS STRESS.
