Sep. 24th, 2002 03:35 pmEvery morning the bus comes by my house at exactly 5:48 a.m. Every afternoon the bus stops at my house at exactly 2:41 p.m. However, lately it's been a little off...
Yesterday morning I went out the the bus at my usual time, but instead of having to wait a minute for it, the bus was already coming down the street. This morning, rather than risking missing the bus, I figured I'd just go out a little earlier. So I did. And I waited. And waited. And waited. Until I figured it was probably time to go inside and see just what time it was (it was 6:05, and I had been waiting outside for about twenty minutes). I bummed a ride off my dad to the elementary school, which is a transfer point for my bus. No buses there. So I waited. And waited. And around 6:30 a bus pulled up (and it was in fact an IB bus). As it turns out, the bus I was supposed to ride broke down, and so did my transfer bus. They got the transfer bus to work again and pick up all of the other people that ride my bus, and dropped them off onto a different bus. By this time, it was at least 6:45 until we left. After all this waiting, I was pretty bored, but at least I would miss part of second period, which I hate with a passion. The ride to school was long and boring, as usual. This morning there was a lot of waiting. And as it turns out, ALL FOR NOTHING. I still got to school on time.
The moral of this story is: good things never happen to the people who need them the most. Fie on you, fate.
