There is nothing like listening to depressing music and watching depressing movies when you're depressed to put you in an even more depressing mood.

And yes, I realize that most people wouldn't classify "Pretty in Pink" as a depressing movie, but if you watch the final ten minutes independent of the rest of the film you will most likely find yourself crying "Duckie! You're supposed to pick Duckie!", which can lead to unnecessary emotional complications.
