Happy Easter, for those who celebrate it. Happy Chocolate Sale Eve for those of you who don't. Personally, I'm not too big on Easter. I mean, hey, you've got to give it up to Jesus for, you know, being Jesus and all, but as far as holidays go it really doesn't have much pizzazz. It always bugs me that twice as many people come to church. Why should a holiday make you feel extra religious? Plus, they always block us in (very tiny parking lot). Also, it means that all of the stores are going to be closed and I really need to go book shopping. I think I will just steal one of my sister's books so I can have something to read at school tomorrow. Finally, I never really get to enjoy any of the traditional Easter fare. My mom never takes me shopping for an Easter dress, my dad never hides eggs in the yard (probably because my dogs would eat them, but whatever), and I don't get an Easter basket. I think the only Easter present I ever got was a pair of socks.

All in all, I think Mardi Gras is a much better holiday. Why don't people start celebrating that more? They have done a parade over in Lake Wales for a while now, but it really isn't that great. I remember I went the first year I had moved from New Orleans, and it was one of the most disappointing experiences of my life. I really had my heart set on going back to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year (mostly because of Dom and Lij), but obviously that didn't work out. Maybe next year...
