Apr. 23rd, 2006 05:43 pmMy mother finally turned the air conditioner on. Usually we would have to wait at least another three weeks before that happens. Shocking! Shocking not only to me, but also to our electricity, which went out some time in the middle of the night.
Only some of the power was out (it still worked in my room and on the TV, so everything important was covered!). We couldn't find the problem before we went to church, and when we got back I remembered that I hadn't washed my PE clothes yet. The washing machine was certainly not working, so I ended up washing them by hand. Ah, the pains I go through for that class! My parents didn't think that they were going to be able to get an electrician out here on a Sunday, but they ended up finding somebody who was still working. So, yeah, the power was fixed right after I finished washing my clothes myself. So much for opportune timing!
I think the most unfortunate part of this is that it will probably be ages before the air goes on again; my mom is going to be too scared that it will blow another fuse.
