I feel obligated to post something, and since I have actually had things going on in my life and all...

Friday morning my sister and I went to the sanctuary to help set it up for the wedding. Mostly we just put up what seemed like hundreds of candles everywhere, but after we were finished it looked quite nice. Later that evening we headed over to Times Square (the restaurant that replaced the Blue Guitar) for the rehearsal dinner with a "Magnum, PI" theme. You would have just thought it was a Hawaiian theme, though, except that there was a TV up front playing old episodes of the show. I didn't really know that many people there, so my sisters and I grabbed a booth and just sort of hung around. I finally got to see my cousin's new baby, William, and he is just the sweetest thing! Even somebody as baby-phobic as me couldn't help falling in love with him. I got to see a whole lot of relatives that I haven't seen since my last cousin's wedding: both of my cousins and their husbands, my aunt's boyfriend Hans (so definitively European that it is hilarious), a bunch of people who apparently know me but who I don't really remember... I really didn't know most of my cousin's friends, and I didn't know any of the bride's friends or family, so I didn't talk to much of anybody. We had good cake, though!

Saturday afternoon was the actual wedding, and it was very nice. We had lots of fun giggling at my cousin's step-dad, who kept sitting in the wrong place during the ceremony. It was short and sweet and afterwards we headed to the reception. They had us seated at tables named after movies, and we had to sit at "Rambo" (personally, I wanted to trade for "Lord of the Rings" or "The Princess Bride"). They had a lot of really complicated things planned out, and I really didn't get most of their inside jokes so I just kind of sat there and ate (good food, but I managed to get some on my skirt, which was on loan from my sister). Once signs of dancing started to appear, my sister and I made a break for the lobby and enjoyed their nice, squishy furniture. We ended up leaving pretty early so we could meet people for breakfast this morning (which I just got back from).

Overall, I suppose I had a good time this weekend, but it was a little too much going out and getting dressed up just to spend time with people I don't know. Big hugs to my cousin and his wife (that is so weird to type!) because they are both very cool people. Can I go to sleep now?

Candles are fun! Especially at weddings... But I went to one where this woman's bushy hair caught on fire... She was ok, but it smelled really bad. :/

We were so afraid that somebody was going to catch on fire! Thankfully, no accidents occurred (yay!).
