I went "back-to-school" shopping this morning. I hate back-to-school shopping because 1) I have to buy clothes that are school appropriate and 2) it means I have to go back to school soon. Bugger.
I went to Gap and bought a tank top and, God help me, a denim jacket. I had been considering buying it for a while, but never did because I couldn't think of anything to wear it with and I was somewhere between a small and a medium. However, I saw it on sale today for about thirteen dollars (originally priced at almost eighty) and decided to go ahead and get it. It is a medium so it is slightly large, but I will figure out a way to wear it...
The Disney store is right across from Gap, so I always feel the urge to go there. I bought a new PotC shirt with a honkin' huge skull on it. My other PotC shirt has a honkin' huge skeleton on it. I have yet to get to the honkin' huge Johnny Depp and/or Orlando Bloom (or Jack Davenport, wouldn't that be nice?). My sister got a "Finding Nemo" shirt. I wanted to buy the "Beauty and the Beast" DVD set because I have it on a tape that has been ripped down the middle and repaired and watched many times over the last ten years, so I think it is time for a new one. However, it was $26 and there is no way on God's green earth that I am paying that much for it. I'll remember to look for it somewhere else.
Finally we went by Old Navy, and I got a new pair of jeans and then some drawstring pants. Out of all the clothes I bought today, I think the jeans and the PotC shirt are the only things I would actually wear to school. On the way to Sam's we stopped by Barnes and Noble and I bought "Scaramouche" and "Lieutenant Hornblower." After I left I remembered that I wanted to look for a copy of "Phantom of the Opera"... Oops... I'll look when I go back to get Lisa a birthday present.
I saw a bunch of funny things at the mall today. There is a Mr. Pretzel kiosk in the middle of the mall. On the front they have three posters advertising the different pretzels they offer. One says, "Mm, sugar!" One says, "Mm, cinnamon!" One says, "Mm, salt!" I saw the "Mm, salt!" sign and could not stop laughing. I'm not sure why, I suppose that just isn't usually the reaction I have to salt. Also, when we were in Gap there was a sign about some hats that they were recalling because a wire in the hat was potentially dangerous to the wearer. On the sign there is a picture of the hat, an amazingly hideous pink straw number, and underneath in large bold letters it reads, "Stop wearing this hat immediately!" Heh...
