It seems like every other week I am posting about being home alone because everybody else in my family decided to go do something fun and I am too much of a hermit to actually go outside. Of course, it isn't entirely my fault; I had class last night so there was no way that I could have gone to the beach with them. The last time they stayed at the beach for a few days I had Kids at College, too. I guess now I just feel bad about it because school starts in two weeks (two weeks! Two! Count 'em!) and I haven't really done much of anything with my summer vacation.
Of course, I haven't entirely wasted my day of having the house to myself. There was a short article about Jon Cryer in the paper today, and I was reminded of just how long it has been since the last time I watched "Pretty in Pink." I think we all know where this is headed...! I had to pop it in and have my ninety-six minutes of nostalgia (fake nostalgia, really, as the movie is older than I am). Duckie is one of the absolute greatest characters of cinema history. I don't know how anybody can watch the "Try a Little Tenderness" scene without thinking, "Dear God, please father my children!" And the pelvic thrusts on the stairs at the end of it... Yeah, I had to watch it about three times.
*fans self*
I can't be the only one who finds that extremely hot, right?
...right? Maybe I do need to get out of the house more often.
