snowystingray: (swords crossed)
Yesterday was a very odd day indeed. Then again, Fridays usually tend to be pretty odd. It began with my being incredibly embarrassed in history class. We started on the Renaissance yesterday, and we were discussing the major differences between Medieval and Renaissance artwork.

Mr. Moore: During the Renaissance, artists tried to create a sense of depth in the paintings. Now, everybody look at Bethany's green shirt.
Everybody: ::turns around and looks at me::
Me: ::already a little embarrassed::
Mr. Moore: Now, if you were going to paint that and make it look three dimensional, would you just use one colour for the whole thing? Of course not! Then she would be completely flat!
Rudy: ::snickers::
Me: ::even more embarrassed than before::
Juliann: But Mr. Moore, she's not flat! She has... dimension...
Me: ::about as embarrassed as it is humanly possible to be::

That is such a silly class. Everybody in there is a little odd. Nice, but odd. But then my day changed from embarrassing to being pissed off when I got home. My sister was going to go see "The Matrix: Revolutions" with some friends, and wanted me to come with her. However, I still needed to ask permission. So I get home...

Me: Dad, is it okay if I go to the movies tonight?
Dad: People who unload dishwashers are allowed to go out in the evenings.
(Oh, yes, my silly father always talks like that. What a dork.)
Me: Okay. ::puts up dishes:: Can I go now?
Dad: Your mother isn't home yet.
Me: Fine... ::waits for mom to come home::
Mom: ::comes home::
Me: Is it okay if I go the movies with Nickie tonight?
Mom: Absolutely not!
Me: But...! Dad already said it was okay! Why can't I go?
Mom: Because you haven't held up your end of the bargain.
Me: What bargain? You're not making sense! ::runs off to room to pummel some furniture::

Then my dad stopped by my room to ask me if I wanted to go to the football game, which really pissed me off a lot because he knows that I hate football, and that going to the game would in no way be an adequate substitute for going out to the movies. However, my sister came by later and was upset because an hour before she was going to go out, all of her friends called her up and bailed on her, so she wasn't going to go to the movies any more. So we took up the offer to go to the football game, and ended up loitering around Bartow for about three hours (it can be done!). She needed to buy a present for her friend's birthday, so we went by Wal-Mart to pick something up and ended up staying there for most of the time. We also stopped by Taco Bell and had some Choco-Tacos and cinnamon twists. At Wal-Mart we ended up buying:

-A birthday card that says, "Birthdays are like boogers... the more you have, the harder it is to breath!" Ah, the pinnacle of maturity!
-"The Wedding Singer" on DVD
-And... finally... for me! I am now the proud owner of the amazingly hot RotK teaser poster and it is hanging in my room as we speak. It got a little bent in the handling process, but as it was only about three dollars I'm not really complaining.

We did stop by the game to check the score before we headed home, and three cheers for LRHS! They finally won a game, yay. A nice way to close out the season, if I do say so myself.
