Aug. 18th, 2007 04:12 pmI got one response to the photomeme from
laughingmagpie, so I took a few pictures of my DVD shelf.

The bottom shelf is exclusively my movies, but the other two are mostly a mix of movies shared amongst the family. For the most part, you can tell which ones are mine because they are meticulously organized according to a system that makes no real sense to anybody but me (partly chronological, partly by genre, partly by which colour cases look pretty next to one another, haha).

A closer view of my classic movies. Oh, how I wish my collection was about ten times bigger!

The middle shelf. Hmm... let's guess which movies are mine? And, wah, Prisoner of Azkaban is still missing from my Harry Potter line-up. I guess I'll have to buy a new copy; I saw one at Wal-Mart yesterday for $9.44.

Finally, the DVDs on top of the TV -- a location reserved for recent purchases and current viewing material. I bought Annie for my sister's birthday yesterday (residual childhood obession), and the rest is a testament to my obsession with goofy detective shows.
As long as I had the camera out, I walked around outside for a bit and took some more pictures. I've shared the wild and crazy side of my yard before, so to be fair I've balanced it out with the more picturesque portions.

On my way down to the lake I caught a few ibises (I had to look up the proper plural for that, and it still sounds weird) taking a stroll along the beach. There were a bunch of kids hanging out right across the point, though, so I didn't end up taking any more pictures by the water.

The most uneven driveway in the history of the world; at least it is pretty!

Most of the camellias are dried out and dead, but I found one fresh bloom hiding right at the top.

Date: 2007-08-19 08:20 pm (UTC)A lot of overlap between our shelves! For my wedding anniversary, we're going to get a nice real wood set of shelves for the DVDs - they are getting out of hand. I like how you consider colour and look of the cases one of the criteria for your shelving system! :-)
