Pick your five favorite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions.
Don't cheat!

(I HATE NARROWING DOWN FAVORITES. This is too hard. I decided to leave off Merlin and Star Trek because I included them in the last meme I did, but it still hurts. And Psych! I thought of it too late!)

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Lost
3. Chuck
4. Stargate (I was just going to do Atlantis, but I've been on an SG-1 kick lately so I'll go ahead and smoosh them together)
5. Robin Hood

01. Who's your favorite character in 2? (Lost)
Honestly, this changes from week to week... for now I suppose I'll say Locke, because maybe if enough of us say it then he won't really be dead. Power of positive thinking!

02. Who's your least favorite character in 1? (Buffy)
Of the regulars? Okay, I'll be predictable and say Dawn. It's not even so much that I dislike her as a character (I mean, yeah, she could be obnoxious, but she's a little sister! That's what we're all like!), I just dislike the idea of her being inserted into the rest of the series. The fact that now all the characters have memories of the first four seasons with Dawn inserted into those adventures... blargh. RETCON FAIL. Having a sibling changes so much of a person's life! It just seems like such a cop-out. Of everybody, I guess Warren has to win for sheer loathsomeness, though.

03. What's your favourite episode of 4? (Stargate)
Oi, I already tried to do this before, didn't I? For SGA, I think "Sateda" probably stands as the most solid episode on all fronts -- character development, ooshy heartfelt moments, action, silliness, significant backstory, etc. etc. -- and, d'awww, it just makes my heart happy. But then of course "Vegas" makes my entire being happy, and I could probably watch it a jillion times and never tire of all the dramatic cuts and overdone homages -- but it isn't really an episode of our Atlantis so I don't want to say it's my favorite of the show. For SG-1... I still think "A Matter of Time" is probably the best done episode I've seen so far.

04. What's your favorite season of 5? (Robin Hood)
Hm. Season two contains almost every BEST SCENE EVER, but then it also features the FINALE OF DOOM so you see my conflict. Plus, series three has Isabella and PJ and Guy's Big Redemptive Arc, so that has to count for something. ... But, no, series two has "For England!" and "Get Carter!" and "Walkabout" and "Treasure of the Nation" and EPIC GUY/MARIAN and "STAY AND MAKE THIS PLACE BEARABLE." Therefore it wins.

05. Who are your favorite ship in 3? (Chuck)
Chuck/Sarah/Casey OT3!

06. Who are your anti-ship in 2? (Lost)
Shoot, this is pretty much the same deal as my favorite character on the show... it changes so much! I'm always loath to declare my undying hatred for anything on Lost because somehow the show has a way of making me come around to every development. Like, honestly, I can't even bring myself to say Nikki/Paulo because they had such an awesome exit. Oh, I don't know, probably Love-Multi-Sided-Polygon-of-Doom, but that isn't really a specific ship, is it? And, anyway, there are still parts of it that are well done (BUT NOT THE PARTS THAT INTERRUPT SAYWER/JULIET. THOSE PARTS SUCK AND NEED TO GO AWAY).

07. How long have you watched 1? (Buffy)
Ummmm since EVER??! I honestly don't remember. We were big fans of the Buffy movie in my household, that's how old school we are, and that came out when I was... er... four, I guess? When the show rolled around, I followed it from the very beginning.

08. How did you become interested in 3? (Chuck)
When Chuck started, I was still under the naive impression that there was only room in my life for so many TV shows (this was back when the only current shows I followed were Lost, House, and Psych. OMG! THREE SHOWS AT ONE TIME! And it all felt so overwhelming, ha), so, while my parents started watching it and recommended it to me, I didn't really feel like I had time to watch it. "I'm in college! I can't spend all my time watching TV!" I said to myself. ...Then I finally realized that ADAM FREAKIN' BALDWIN was on the show; I have no idea how that escaped me for so long but, well, there it is. This was also a year after the show premiered, a year during which I managed to become immersed in Robin Hood, watch a million episodes of Star Trek, watch about a hundred episodes of Stargate in a one-month period, pick up like ten other shows... Who says I didn't learn anything from college? I learned to fandom multitask! So anyway, I decided to catch up with the show right before the second season started up, and fell in lo-o-o-ove. To be honest I'm rather glad I watched it that way, though -- while I do like the first season, I think the show improves greatly as it goes along so it was probably better to get through all the growing pains in one go.

09. Who's your favorite actor/actress in 4? (Stargate)
ROBERT PICARDO. I feel like a cheat saying this, as he was only a regular for one season. BUT. WOOLSEY. KSDLFJ;LASF;ASFD;JASDF;ASF THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR MY LOVE. I've been trying to finally get my gmail inbox under control and have consequently uncovered about a hundred lj comment notifications that I meant to reply to but never got around to looking at again... and I rediscovered this Sheppard/Woolsey fic masterlist! It is woefully short but I don't care, I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! Um, anyway, okay, this is probably veering more into character than actor love, so to get back on topic with Bob. Come on, guys! He's Robert Picardo! That's like nerd gold! He has a beautiful shiny bald head! He's so hilariously awkward and full of unsuspected dirty jokes in all of his fan appearances! Basically, he is amazing. I also love Amanda Tapping because she is just so genuine, and there really isn't another way to describe it... she just comes across as such a truly nice person, professional yet funny, NOBODY CAN HELP BUT LOVE HER, and, oh yeah, she's super cute to boot.

...Now I feel the need to start rhapsodizing about everybody on these shows, geez. I will spare you, but you should know that it is just about to start brimming over...! (RACHEL! JOE! JOEFACES! THE J.MO WHO ISN'T JENNIFER MORRISON. ...!!! I WILL STOP NOW!)

10. Which do you prefer: Season 1 of 2 or 5? (Lost, Robin Hood)
Lost. Okay, that was easy.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? (Buffy, Chuck)
I've seen every episode of both shows, but more episodes of Buffy because seven seasons > two seasons. Math skills, yo.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? (Stargate)
After much deliberation -- TODD. BECAUSE HE IS SUCH A BAMF. And he has strange sexual chemistry with John and Woolsey (and even Rodney, in times past) and who wouldn't want that?

13. How would you kill off your favorite character in 1? (Buffy)
Well, they already did it, didn't they? (I was just going to leave it at that, and then realized that basically every single character has been killed off of this show at some point in time, sometimes more than once. Ha. I will leave it to you to decide which favorite character I am referring to.)

14. Give a random quote from 1? (Buffy)
"What he lacks in smarts, he makes up for in lack of smarts."

What. Where did 15. go? This is distressing...

16. Would a 3/4 crossover work? (Chuck/Stargate)
YES. Like, REALLY well, actually. So well that I'm about 90% positive it's already been done... I seem to recall mention of it at [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders? But, yeah, it'd be super easy. Um, secret government organizations? High ranking behind-the-scenes Air Force generals? Teams comprised of hugely flaily geeks and hardcore-but-sarcastic military personalities and highly skilled improvisational fighters? I sense much overlap.

17. Pair 2 characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple. (Buffy)
Spike/Xander, durrr. With a side of Spike/Giles.

18. Has 5 inspired you in any way? (Robin Hood)
HA. AHAHAHA. ...The sad part is that the answer to this question is a resounding "YESSSS!!!!" I have come to accept that I will never fully understand this show's long-lasting choke-hold on my soul, but it is undeniable! Just in terms of fandom involvement, robin+hood is my most used fandom tag (and it terms of all my tags, it only ranks behind really general ones like "books" and "college"); Robin Hood is the first (and in fact only) show I've vidded; in between comments and posts I have written friggen novels of meta and speculation; I still tie all other fandom related distress back to the FINALE OF DOOM; I've done countless picspams of various episodes/characters/ships and will probably do many more (in fact I have been playing around with doing a "FULL SERIES TRIBUTE!!" picspam that will make its debut... eventually... err. I spend too much time on these things!). In a real life way... well, actually, I did some Medieval history coursework before getting into the show, but it certainly helped reawaken my love of those wacky Plantagenets; series three in particular has also reawakened my costuming bug; most of my recent forays into embroidery have been motivated by a desire to do some epic Medieval embroidery project... that I have yet to decide on... hmm (okay, taking a quick aside here, but -- any suggestions for this? I want to do some sort of silly Robin Hood-inspired piece, but in an old stylistic form; I'm just afraid that it will be funny/interesting to nobody but me, and, anyway, I just have such a hard time narrowing it down! Should I have "Ye Olde Bromance" with the Merry Men? Should I have "Ye Olde Love Triangle" with Guy/Marian/Robin? And for that matter, which characters should I include? Do Tuck and Kate not count? I kind of like Tuck, even though his character was mostly balls! But then would I leave off Will/Djaq? I don't know! ...I make things far too complicated). The show as a whole has also informed the way I think about a lot of other things I watch... mostly just in terms of my proclivity for "bad" TV (that is, the fact that it has a small following and it pretty much universally derided... makes me like it more? And makes it more inviting as a fandom? But then how do I rationalize getting defensive of the same stupid things that make my brain go crazy? And how do I rationalize the good bits of the show with all the bad? And, anyway, how do I quantify the good/bad on the show? Would the good exist without the bad? Much as I hate on a lot of things, would I really change any of them? Etc. etc. I THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT TV). And then, ha, I know I just posted about this last time as well -- but, seriously, [livejournal.com profile] capslock_hood has completely blown my mind with how fantabulous it has been recently. Although I tend to be a super-involved fan in my own weird brainspace (as in, I spend a lot of time thinking about TV), I'm not always an extremely participatory one, but for some reason it is completely different for me with this show. I really enjoying getting right in the middle of everything, from serious business discussion to super ridiculous capslock nonsense.

THIS IS THE LONGEST ANSWER EVER. Basically, Robin Hood, for reasons good or bad, you are my special fandom friend. You have inspired to me reach beyond myself, to picspam where no picspam has gone before, to obsess over my OTP even after they ruined each other's lives, to EXPRESS MYSELF VIA EXTREME MACRO, to channel twelfth century old ladies and embroider weird stuff. I... er... thank you?

19. Overall, which show has a better cast, 2 or 4? (Lost, Stargate)
Hmm, I'm taking this in two ways. In terms of ensemble cast of characters acting together on the show -- Lost, hands down. But then with Lost, I have a tendency to compartmentalize the stars and only see them as their characters, not as celebrities-to-be-flailed-over (I reserve that for Darlton, ha). With Stargate -- well, of course I indulge in teamflail on a regular basis, but I'm much more likely to view them as a bunch of goofy actors who joke around on set and have fun doing hilariously cruel impressions of one another at conventions. So... Lost for on-screen cast, Stargate for off-screen? If that makes any sense...

20. Which has better theme music, 3 or 5? (Chuck, Robin Hood)
Robin Hood! It's just so... exciting! You listen to it and instantly know that some serious adventure dramarama is about to go down. I will be honest, I don't think Chuck's opening credits are nearly cool enough for the show (apologies to whoever made them. They're not bad, they just... could be better?).

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. OMG OMG OMG. I'd actually already read most of them before, but I'll be darned if I didn't sit down and read all of them again! Honestly, I could read "Mr Woolsey's Guide to Etiquette in the Pegasus Galaxy" every day of the week and not get tired of it. Also I am absolute crap at leaving feedback, so I still need to go back through most of them and say "HEY BY THE WAY I FREAKING LOVE THIS AND I LOVE YOU FOR WRITING IT."

I am so glad I still have my Woolsey icon. Every time I think about deleting it because, hey, SGA has been over for months, I just think... but what if I neeeed it?? And then situations like this come up, and, oh, Woolsey. ♥ ♥ ♥

I've been spending, like, the last TWO WEEKS re-reading SGA fic that I love, I completely support fics that can be read over again and still be awesome ^.^

Woolsey rocks so hard ^.^ Cute icon, does he have the vapors? And I'm a almost-anyone/Sheppard fan, so I'm totally for this pairing. Also, because it kinda rocks in a highly disturbing way.

Speaking of icons one always thinks about deleting....I meant to use this before, after seeing your quote, but forgot ^.^

Hahaha, what an awesome coincidence that you have that icon on hand!

And, yes, in my mind, Woolsey's dependence on the rules extends to some general prudish scandalized-by-everything mindset and he is secretly a prim Victorian lady thrown in amongst the hotbed of immoral scoundrels that is Atlantis, all "oh sirs I do believe I shall faint if I see just one more violation of protocol *swoon*". And yet somehow as season five progresses he learns to, err, show a little proverbial ankle -- heavily encouraged by John, of course, and lo and behold my massive shippy feelings for those two emerge. When it comes to John ships I usually tend to stick within the team (for whatever reason, Rodney's the one I ship with everybody/everything/THE KITCHEN SINK), but then I love that he also has these sort of building, recurring side relationships that are a whole separate thing from the familiar, comfortable work dynamic (so that'd be where I put Sheppard/Woolsey, John/Todd, and, I guess if we're talking strictly canon, that seems to be what they were trying for with John/Larrin).

I have a TON of Buffy quote icons. I rarely use them, but I love them so. I actually think I deleted a few last month, but still have a bunch haha

Haha, John totally loves to corrupt people ^.^

I think one of the reasons that I don't ship a lot of Rodney pairings is that he gets so many chances on the show--he gets the one-offs like John, but also gets the "serious" canon pairings like with Katie and Keller. So, like, a part of me wants to give John a chance to have something, and another part of me is thinking that while Rodney's off going on dates and whatnot, John's probably sneaking around getting laid *smirk*

I love John/Todd like whoa, I wish the writers had done more with that Gift of Life thing *sigh* I think if they'd given us a bit more, I could have even gotten behind John/Larrin.
