See, it goes like this: The principal at our school is Dr. Vetter. And as it turns out, his first name is Eddie. As soon as I found all of that out, I was constantly cracking Dr. Vetter/Eddie Vedder jokes all the time. Unfortunately, NOBODY got it. They'd just stare at me for a minute and then ask, "Who's Eddie Vedder?" If it had just been a couple people, I wouldn't mind. But it is everybody. I even said something about it to my mother, and she asked the same question. When I try to explain to people who he is, then I get even *more* questions, usually to the effect of "Who the hell is Pearl Jam?" Ah! You uncultured people! Go watch some TV, for God's sake. Nobody gets my pop culture references...
