1. Describe in five words or less how you feel about Order of the Phoenix. (your initial reaction)
Harry meets angst.
2. What are your feelings on Harry's personality? Do you think he is overly cynical, depressed, etc. . . .?
It's about time! He gets so screwed all the time that I'm surprised it took him this long to crack. I suppose I should be able to relate well because I'm now finally the same age as ickle Harrikins, but really! He does go through a lot of horrible things that nobody should ever have to deal with, and because he does them he gets singled out and is all aloooone. Okay, not quite. But angst is justified all the same.
3. Do you think Order of the Phoenix is appropriate for children 13 and younger? Why or why not?
Absolutely. I don't think that the material would be harmful to kids who "aren't as mature", I just think that they might find it boring. I really don't find any of it inappropriate, though.
4. List your five most hated characters (either in Book 5 or the whole series, non-humans can be included).
::doe-eyed:: Harry Potter has taught me to embrace all people, no matter how stuck up and annoying they are! Therefore, I don't hate anyone! Okay, maybe not. I wouldn't say that I hate anyone, but characters who bothered me, or who I enjoy reading about but would dislike if I actually knew them...
-Bellatrix. Creepy as hell.
-Kreacher. Mean and ugly. Yes, he loses points for being ugly.
-Ubridge. Because. Duh.
-Cho. For being silly.
-Zacharias. Cool name, but generally a jerk wad.
5. Percy turned away from his family. Will he come crawling back to them now or . . .?
I'm still all confused about Percy. I'm not sure exactly where I stand on him.
6. What did you think of the new DADA's punishment? Why didn't Harry nor Lee complain?
Pure. Evel. But, doesn't the book explain why they don't complain? I think it was a point of pride for them that Umbridge couldn't break them.
7. What do you think of James and Lily now?
Basically the same as before: not much. Not that I think little of them, just that I don't think of them a lot (does that make sense?). We really don't have that much to go on, and from what I saw in the book, they were normal kids. Doing normal (but stupid) kid stuff.
8. Has your opinion (which is probably not too good) of Petunia Dursley changed? If yes, how so?
I definitely think more than sibling rivalry caused her dislike of wizards.
9. What's the meaning of Snape's nickname in your opinion?
Nicknames don't have to make sense, do they? I dunno, it was kids picking on other kids. Dumb nicknames generally come into play.
10. What do you think of the character death? Do you think s/he will return? The "death" of this person was vague and not very final; however, remember that JKR said she cried over this character's death.
::sobs:: If he is dead, I want it to be final (details, please!). I'm still all fuzzy on stuff.
11. Do you think fanfiction will be hurt by Book 5? Do you see any new pairings arising? Do you see any huge ships falling apart?
I can see fanfics in progress being reworked, but that would happen no matter what. I don't really see it being hurt. Truth be told, I'm sure it will inspire even more writers. As for new ships... The obvious one would be Harry/Luna. I'm sure there will be a bigger following behind James/Sirius as well. And then there's always all sorts of weirdness when new characters are introduced. Not that weird can't be fun, but I think I might be reluctant to read, say, Hermione/Grawp.
12. What was your favourite chapter in Order of the Phoenix? Why?
I think I have to go back and reread it before I can answer this one.
13. Talk about Fred and George's "flight."
So. Flipping. Cool. I'm surprised Mr. and Mrs. Weasley didn't seem more upset, though.
14. Give some thoughts on Ron.
ASK OUT HERMIONE ALREADY! Sorry, pent up fangirl emotions. I'm getting impatient. I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't get to see his big Quidditch win, though.

Um. Something was different about her. Good different? I'm not sure.
15. What did you think of Dumbledore's explanation?
Cheater! Yes, I felt cheated. I can understand why Harry was mad.
16. Do you feel satisfied by this book?
In some ways, yes, and in others I'm still going, "Wah! Explain!!"
17. How anxious are you now for Book 6?
More than ever. Really.
