Bonnie and I finally went to go watch "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" this afternoon. Getting to the theatre really early is a mixed blessing -- there were only about three people working there, so the lines for tickets and food took entirely too long, but because it was so early we had the entire theatre to ourselves. It was by no means the best movie I've seen this summer, but it was better than I expected. And Shane West wasn't annoying (but, gads, Stuart Townsend was... I'm just glad that he didn't end up starring in LotR ::glomps viggo!Aragorn::). No good trailers, though. Wah. I did muchly want to go watch "Le Divorce," but since it's only opening in limited release I doubt I'll watch it before it comes out on DVD. I did however find a film that I think I want to see between now and RotK. "Master and Commander"! It's been so long since I first heard about it that I'd completely forgotten it was coming out. I'm not a huge fan of Russell Crowe, but Billy Boyd! And Paul Bettany! Anyway, I'll leave this post before I start fangirling out even more.

.. i wasn't too impressed with it....
I think Sean West is cute.. but being he portrayed tom sawyer.. a character who completely destroyed the book "Huck Finn"... It didnt count for anything.. lol
Sean Connery is cool though.. have to admit that.. and then hmm... oh yes the Russell Crowe movie... I hadn't even heard of it.. but i saw a poster for it.. I will see it... yes

I don't think Shane West is cute simply because he reminds me so much of this super obnoxious kid I used to know back in third grade. Sean Connery is the coolest. Mina imitating him was priceless. And. Ah! I haven't seen any "Master and Commander" posters yet. But all of the "special previews" I've seen of it have been Russell Crowe. Russell Crowe. Paul Bettany in the background. Russell Crowe. No sightings of Billy as of yet...

The only reason I liked "Gladiator" is because Joaquin Phoenix rocks like no other. The actual movie was kind of meh-ish, but his performance was so amazing. And he made me cry ::sniffle::

Even as a huge League fan, I could not agree more. I despise Mr. Townsend greatly >:( That aside, the League film really didn't do the original graphic novel justice. You should go check it out sometime, 'tis much better and makes more sense.

I have a friend who went out and bought a copy of it, so I'm planning on stealing it from him in the near future. He owes me, anyway, because he's had my copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" since about seventh grade.
