Jan. 30th, 2009 10:56 amNot having classes on Fridays? Both a bless and a curse. Blessing: HELLO, NO CLASS. Curse: I can't be arsed to get anything done. I even forgot to set an alarm for this morning and didn't get up until almost 8:00. At the very least I'll be trekking over to the library later today to pick up some movies on reserve (Forbidden Planet and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, what up! I also have plans this weekend to rewatch Repo! The Genetic Opera with one of my friends and then watch the recent Byron TV movie with another. Don't worry, it's perfectly natural to be jealous of my clearly awesome taste in viewing materials).
I just rediscovered a rather embarrassingly large stash of American Idol miscellany on my computer, oh dear. Season six... those were the good days... *is in no way rocking out to Blake Lewis right now, of course not*
GUUUUYSSSS CHUCK IS BACK ON MONDAY!!!! FINALLY MORE CASEY! And, you know, Sarah and Chuck and Ellie and Awesome and Lester and Anna and Morgan and Big Mike and Jeff and awesome guest stars and EVERYBODY...! But mostly Casey. Lamely, though, I think I'll have to start watching it online (why why whhhhhhy did House have to move to Mondays?).
And to close, Lost! Thoughts on "Jughead":
- Um, wow, is it just me or was Ellie totally hot and totally FRIGGEN AWESOME? Apparently my Lost kink is crazy chicks with guns (Danieeeelle!! *sad*).
- Sorry, Dan/Charlotte, but once again I am totally pffft on island romances. I just wish we got to see and get more of a feel for Charlotte as a individual character with personal history before getting all love-interest-y about it, or before she had to die for ~dramatic heartbreak~ reasons. Not that I think she's actually dead. At least I hope not... More Charlotte backstory! I demand it! This is the part where I shamefully admit that I'm mostly just in love with Rebecca Mader because she was in the Samantha movie, ahahaha (and also because I've been watching all of the season four DVD extras and she and Elizabeth Mitchell are SO CUTE TOGETHER. The RPS, where is it??).
- Actually, speaking of the season four DVDs -- I watched all of the mobisodes and was getting all nostalgic over how adorable everybody is and how much I love, in the midst of all the island mythology insanity, that we have this group of people who are people and still get to have fun moments and cute moments and goofy moments and just let's-be-normal-people moments, and I was overwhelmed with warm fuzzies... until I realized, damn. Basically all of them are dead now. :/ And then after this episode, okay -- are all of the non-hero Losties dead? Did the last of the redshirts just get killed by that land mine? (Well, we didn't see Rose and Bernard this week, so maybe there are more with them -- UNLESS THEY ARE DEAD TOO!!! Just kidding, there's no way D&C are going to kill off Rose and Bernard because I WON'T LET THEM.) It seems like just yesterday we were having a Very Special Episode when Scott/Steve/whoever died, and now it's just... dead. Dead. DEADDEADDEAD!! Cheers for real stakes, but jeers for KILLING EVERYBODY GEEZ.
- That said, I feel like this season is going to be a ton of fun on that front as we get to jump around in time and see everybody who has been bumped off over the past four seasons. Yeah, yeah, it's a gimmicky way to cover a lot of background storytelling, but I still think it's cool. I'm with whoever said they should travel back to DINOSAURS!!! There's just so much potential for places to jump, though; I can't help feeling that soon each episode is going to end with Locke going, "Oh, boy..."
- PENNY AND DES. I EXPLODED FROM CUTE.
- WIDMORE. WHAT. WHAT. HOLY...! My parents even called me during the commercial break to yell, "OH MY GOD!!!!!!" with me, ahaha. My TV dorkiness is genetic, I swear.

Re: I still don't have a proper Lost icon, so here is my Prisoner WTF TV one.
Date: 2009-01-31 04:43 am (UTC)YES. THIS X 100000.
I've been quite fond of all four of our helicopter friends, but I do wish that we got more of a story spread amongst all of them instead of all this concentration on Faraday. (!! Who ever thought I'd say that? Apparently it is indeed possible to go overboard on the twitchy scientist, though.) Miles is like a real life ghostbuster! And Charlotte is like a real life Indiana Jones (or possibly more Belloq-ish given the one flashback we've seen, ha)! And Frank is... I don't know, but I'd love to find out! I realize that at this point in the show Dan's work makes him the most integral to the storyline, but hopefully things will balance out a bit more later in the season (MILES AND CHARLOTTE FLASHBACKS. I NEED THEM.)
I feel you. :( :( :( :( I rewatched Ji Yeon about a week ago and bawled through the whole thing. And then I watched this mobisode (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh49BoGTXr0) and cracked up and fell in love and then... yeah. :( Season one, those were good days...

Date: 2009-01-30 07:35 pm (UTC)HELL YES FOREVER. The notion that they could travel as far back in time as PRETTY MUCH EVER -- oh, it makes my brain dance and sing! I demand pirates, the construction of the four-toed statue, and, now, DINOSAURS. Get 'er done, show!

Date: 2009-01-31 04:50 am (UTC)Even though dinosaurs scare the everliving crap out of me, I still want to see one on the show because. Seriously. Imagine how epic that would be. Remember back in the day when we were all like, "Whoa! It's a polar bear! THIS SHOW IS SO CRAZY!!"? The gang should jump back, come face to face with another polar bear and start freaking out, only to have the bear scooped up by a T-Rex. I'm picturing it right now, and it's kind of glorious.

Date: 2009-01-30 11:13 pm (UTC)And man, do I agree with you on Dan/Charlotte. I have to say, we don't entirely agree on everything-- I'm really, really (reallyreally) big on Kate/Sawyer. I like most of the Lost romances, and I generally think they make sense--people in situations like that DO fall in love quickly, I believe. But what you said about Charlotte is my main problem--can we PLEASE get to know her first before we're expected to care??? She has potential--she kicks ass and she's pretty (what a smile!) and has a cool accent. So why won't they give her a personality?
Lastly: Penny and Desmond forever!
