Sorry I haven't gotten around to replying to all of the posts/comments I've meant to! Hopefully I'll catch back up by tomorrow; but last night I went to a "fun trivia night" that turned out to be one of the most dull and drawn out evenings of my entire life ever (HYPERBOLE, YES, BUT STILL), and now tonight my sister has guilt-tripped me into checking out a karaoke bar with her and I probably should have left already, WHOOPS, but I'm trying to clear through at least one layer of internet duties before I leave. (Does it even need stating that internet >>>> social life?) I am spending the night up there (because, right, it makes perfect sense to make a hundred-mile round-trip drive for karaoke -- oh, sister of mine, I hope you are glad that I love you!) so I think I'm going to counter-guilt-trip her into watching some Who while I'm there so I can stay on top of my rewatch in time for Friday (IT'S ALREADY WEDNESDAY, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??).

Okay, photo meme, day twelve:

Newstead Abbey, 17 April. It seems like a place that should be dark and Gothic and gloomy and etc. etc., and yet I managed to go on a 100% gorgeous day. Oh, isn't my life so hard!

And then this Doctor Who vid rec got buried in the comments of an earlier post, so I'm giving it the place of prominence it deserves:

WHY SO EPIC, OT3?

GORGEOUS PICTURE. Meh, it doesn't have to be gloomy.

Also: aaagh yeah, I hear you on ridiculous driving for the sake of proving love. :/ And trivia nights are never fun. Trivia is what you play when you're stuck on a sleeper train and no one's internet works.

hope things are better!

Oh, agreed! There's something intensely delightful about the contrast between DOOM GLOOM DECAY and a gorgeous day of sunny and green. Weird, but awesome.

I enjoy trivia, but when it turns into a giant, competitive group thing, it just sucks all the fun out of it because people are catty and sqabbly and nitpicking and JFC it's just trivia night at a lame restaurant, the only prize is a gift card TO THIS LAME RESTAURANT; and the competition dragged out forever. FOR.EV.ER. Three hours! Urrrghhh, think of all the interneting I could be doing in that time. :/

Karaoke bar was more fun, except for the stench of stale cigarettes that has saturated my entire being and will probably take at least two more showers to scrub out.
